bloody old women: When your three- year-old climbs onto your lap and asks, "Do you love me the best, Mama?," what do you say? "Well, yes, but not as much as I love your Daddy?" I don't think so. And yet, when I got pregnant, I received some not-so-gentle advice from the older women in my life: "You're going to love this baby more than life itself. Just don't tell your husband," said one. "You don't want to neglect your husband, dear. Let him know he's still the most important person in your world," said another. I didn't take their arguably sage advice. Here's why. A LATTER FOR ADAM D'RAPHAEL I feel so fortunate to have you for a son I love your bright face when u talk seriously about the world I love your smile when you laugh at the inconsistencies in the world I love your eyes when you are showing emotion I love your mind when you are discovering new ideas and creating dreams to follow Many people tell me that they cannot talk to their children that they cannot wait for them to leave home I want you to know that I enjoy you so much and I look forward to any time we can spend together Not only are you my adored son but you are also my friend I am so proud of you my son and I love you
